This is the Ki-44 model for CFS2 that I've been designing. It is a multi-resolution model (about 5200 polys, depending on the version); I'm also designing every other models of the Ki-44 - except the experimental versions that have never seen combat. So, there will be CFS2 models for the early combat evaluation model, the early model I, the late model I, model II Ko, model II Otsu and model II Hei. There will be no model III (no front line assignment) nor the counter-rotating propeller model.
The airplane shown above is a leader plane Ki-44 II Otsu with 40mm Ho-301 rocket guns from the 47th Sentai, 3rd Chutai based at Narimasu airfield, flying in Home Islands Defense duty.
The gauges for the Ki-44 are designed by Robert L. Clark. His excellent job surpasses all my expectations!
The flight model is made by Craig Paffhausen.
My deepest thanks goes to Mr Nick Millman who kindly provided me with a copy of the TAIC pilot manual for the Ki-44 Shoki model I and II
The Ki-44 aircraft for CFS2 is provided as freeware for all to enjoy (which means "All rights reserved", but the authors are distributing their work freely).
That was a lot of work; thanks to everyone for your patience. There is still a lot of work to be done, so the release date is unknown for the other versions (late model I) and all the other paintings (each significant paint scheme will be done, covering every unit who used the Ki-44)
if you like this plane, you'll need to be patient!
Other Ki-44 models:
You need to install the Ki-44 II Otsu and the Ki-44 Evaluation to have the others versions functionning properly

Here is a link to my pages where you'll find the copy of the original TAIC Aircraft Handbook for the Ki-44 I and II (thanks to Nick Millman):
